Been watching episodes of Serial Experiments Lain on Youtube. Strange, haunting, gritty. That's my impression of it. The Wired is like a portal between the real world and… some parallel universe? The anime is so reliant on perception. I don't know if everyone would agree on what they think the central message is, because it depends on how you saw it. I wish my opinion wasn't spoiled by someone else's.
